SOME STATISTICS:

PEOPLE AND FAMILIES DIRECTLY INVOLVED WITH THE CENTRE over the past ten years.

• Approximately forty five (45) different persons have served on the executive committee thus far.
• 19 Full time staff members had employment with the Centre.
• 10 persons served in a temporary employment capacity.
• 80 pupils received some education at the Centre thus far. Some pupils who started out with the Centre are still accommodated. Some have moved on to other institutions and some have passed away.
• Red Cross Developmental Assessment Unit, UCT and UWC physiotherapy and Occupational therapy departments, Protea College, CMHS + RX social workers. Carinus nursing College has also applied to send their trainee nurses to SPSCC for exposure to special care pupils.
• The parents and family members are given support via a parent support group therapy sessions conducted monthly at the Centre under the guidance of Annemarie Krause, Social worker with the RX developmental Assessment unit.
